I'm back...

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Life got very busy after school started with school, soccer, gymnastics, work...you know. Most of us share a similar fate during the school year. Not to mention that when you live in Wisconsin (or any location where winter can be harsh), you tend to be outside as much as possible as summer draws to a close and autumn is showing off is spectacular beauty.

The last of the leaves are falling. We are getting our first flurries tonight. "Hibernation" will be starting soon (most likely with the very unwelcome end to Daylight Savings Time). Oh the humanity! Next week, it will likely be dark by 5:00 pm. This is probably my least favorite thing about living this far north...the short days of winter. I can handle the cold and the snow, but how I miss the sunlight during these months.
Any way, all of that to say, I should be posting much more often now. I wanted to start with an event that blessed us tremendously.

Sometime in late summer, Hannah began asking to have a lemonade stand. She wanted to raise money "to help the poor." Between my traveling, our general busy-ness, soccer, weather issues, etc., it was late September before we got around to it, but we had a great warm weekend for it. I wanted to post these pictures to share with you the results.

Hannah's friend, Ari, joined us to help at the lemonade stand. Both girls worked so hard to smile and wave and get people over. The earned $19.50 at the stand, to which Hannah wanted to add the $10 she had saved of her allowance. When she convinced us that she truly wanted to give all of her saved spending money, we added the $20 we had given her to make change at the stand. Ari & Hannah were able to take $50 to the Waukesha Food Pantry, which I know God will use to bless many people (remember the loaves & fishes). They also had a lot of fun in between the arguments over whose turn it was to pour the lemonade. They're not angels quite yet ;-).

I hope to make another post soon with some pictures of the fall scenery and our trip to the Pumpkin Patch.

Love you all...
